THE ART
FOR THE HOUSE
The Gospel is the greatest story ever told, it deserves to be told beautifully.
It is the prerogative of Beauty to win hearts.
As creatives, we have eyes to see the beauty in the spaces we inhabit.
We document that beauty because ART SPEAKS
Our work reflects the beauty of Jesus and invites others to consider or reconsider church.
Our art connects people to community.
Community creates a place for discipleship.
Discipleship is our calling. Walking together, living the way Jesus taught.
Through creativity, we bring glimpses of Heaven to earth.

Example of centering. Subject's head is placed on upper third
Horizontal example of centering. Subject's head is on upper third.
Example of framing subject using other objects/people. Adds balance and depth.
Perfect example of thirds. Subjects are well balanced, and heads on upper corners of third. Lower horizon sits on lower third. Subjects are cropped between joints, not at the hip.
Example of a wide versus small aperture. Blurred out shapes as seen on the left are called Bokeh. Notice how same exposure can be maintained with different aperture by changing other settings.
Example of slow shutter. Slow shutter often involves a shutter speed of 1/30 or slower. This photo was likely taken between 1/30-1/15. A smaller aperture is used to both compensate for the exposure by making the image darker and also helps keep subject in focus, allowing greater control over what is blurred.
Perfect example of rules thirds. Subjects placed in shade on a sunny day to even out light. Great ratio of headroom to foot room.
Another example of rule of thirds. Subject shoulders are placed on upper thirds. Head room and foot room well balanced, feet are NOT CUT OFF.
A double use of rule of thirds. Two groups of people sit on the left and right thirds. Also the horizontal thirds match up with both the horizon line of the end of the concrete and at the top of the building.
Example of how different white balance can make a photo look. When colors are not balanced properly, photos become harder to edit. Auto does well in many situations, but there are times when other settings may do better. White balance is most important when it comes to skintones.
