RULES & GUIDELINES
PUMPKIN DERBY
1. Craft your pumpkin racer using a single real pumpkin.
2. Insert 2 independent axles through your pumpkin and attach wheels. You may use your own supplies or purchase an axle and wheel kit at the office.
3. Pumpkin Derby Racers cannot exceed 20 lbs nor 20” in width. (Track lanes are 24” in width.)
4. No pre-fabricated chassis of any type is permitted i.e., skateboard, RC car, toy truck, etc.
5. No power assisted pumpkins, no motors, batteries, fans, pyrotechnics or explosives. Derby pumpkins must be GRAVITY powered only.
6. The 2 axles may not be hooked together in any way.
7. Decorate your pumpkin to make it a crowd pleaser!
8. No pushing or “helping” your pumpkin racer at the starting line. Officials will keep a keen eyeout for last minute shoves or any other trick.
9. NO CHEATING... Please be honest and fair. Don’t be tempted to be a cheater. The officials will have the “Cheater Beater” on hand to destroy any cheater pumpkins.
10. Derby is open to contestants of all ages. The only requirement is
that you must be able to climb or be lifted to the top of the launch platform.
BIBLE COSTUME CONTEST
Costumes must be original home made creations to qualify for prizes.
No scary, bloody, or inappropriate costumes.
Costumes may not be rented or store bought.
Costumes for ages 0-2 may be store bought. (May result in deducted points.)
All masks must be removable.
Costume Ideas
Bible Characters or Animals Things from Creation (i.e. flower, dog, fish)
Bible Concepts (i.e. love, truth) Food from Creation (God made, natural)
(i.e. broccoli, grapes, apple etc.)
Judging Criteria
0-50 points Originality
0-40 points Costume Category Compliance
0-30 points Functionality (Can the person still have fun?)
0-20 points Workmanship
0-10 points Attention to details
Prizes will be be awarded to the Best Overall Winner on points in each Prize Division.
Prize Divisions
0 - 12 yrs 13-18 yrs 19 - 119 yrs Groups**
Groups can be 3 or more people completing the costume
Any age may participate in the Group Category.
Only one prize will be awarded to be shared by all in the group
Judging begins at 6:30pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, and ends promptly at
7:15pm. Please arrive at the judges table in the foyer during this time to have
your costume judged. All contestants should be in line by 7pm.
Prizes will be awarded at 7:30pm in the foyer. Winners are to be present at the
awards ceremony or they forfeit to the next highest scoring contestant(s). A
family member may not claim your prize.
In honor of fairness, judges will not judge family members. An average of all
the other judges scores will be used in the case of family participation.
As believers in Christ, it is our place to be a light in this world. It
is not our desire to magnify the kingdom of darkness.
