Believers Center of Albuquerque - Our History

     A BRIEF HISTORY

From the basement of a bank building to 16 acres at the eastern gate of the city, God’s faithfulness has continued to amaze us.

Our first service was September 7, 1980. Thirty men, women and children attended and Pastor Marshall led worship and preached the Word. Attendance steadily increased and we needed more space. Within three years we had moved four times. The S&H Green Stamp Redemption Center became home with office space and plenty of room to grow.

Finally, the church could expand to include children and teen ministries, office staff and a bookstore. During these years we added a second service and began reaching out to other countries. Small groups were meeting in homes and we began a food program. GO discipleship was established, and in 1988 we purchased the 16 acres at the edge of town.

In January 1997, we finally broke ground on the new property. After countless meetings with architects and builders to determine the placement of every wall, door and window, we were ready to begin. The first service in the new facility was March 15, 1998. Shortly thereafter, small groups were transformed into Church Life Groups, and Project Love became a notable outreach into the poorer neighborhoods or our community.

We have always believed what God promised from the start – that He would bring the people we needed and position them as He saw fit. Our people are talented, wise and generous. They know God’s heart and they partner with us to do the work of the ministry. Together we have seen souls saved, bodies healed, and families strengthened. Together we’re moving forward, because we know that for all the wonderful things we have seen God do in the past, He has saved the best for last. We stand amazed.
