We recommend that you pray something like this – but the attitude of your heart is far more important than the exact words you say.

Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for me. I believe you rose from the dead and you’re alive now. Thank you for your forgiveness and love. I turn away from all that separates us. I want relationship with you more than I want anything else. I receive you as my Lord and Savior.

By praying a prayer like this one, you are now a member of the family of God. It’s grace, a free gift from God. You can’t earn it; all you can do is receive the gift.

The Bible has great stuff in it about living this new life – read it! And a good place to start is the Gospels in the New Testament – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John! We also suggest that you find a life-giving church near you, become a faithful member there and help them in their work for the Kingdom of God.
